Manila Plane Crash: 13 People Killed in Parañaque Plane Crash

A light aircraft crashed in Parañaque City on Saturday afternoon, killing 13 people, including 8 children.

Col. Manuel Manuel of Parañaque's Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the plane crashed in Better Living Subdivision, Taiwan St., Barangay Don Bosco.

Manuel said residential houses were damaged in the incident, while an elementary school caught fire. He said the BFP has raised the fire alarm to Task Force Alpha.

"More fire trucks will be coming from different cities within NCR (National Capital Region)... medyo lumalawak na ang sunog natin."

Gwendolyn Pang, Secretary-General of the National Red Cross, said all 5 people onboard the plane died. She said bodies of 8 children were also found in the crash site.

Ramon Gutierrez, director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, earlier told dzMM that the plane with tail no. RPC 824 encountered a problem after taking off from the domestic runway.

He said the plane, owned by Innovators Technology Inc., was bound for San Jose, Mindoro.

He said one of the pilots had requested the Manila Domestic Airport control tower for relanding. The plane's pilots were identified as Timoteo Aldo and Jessie Kim Lustica.

Pag-take off niya dito sa ating domestic runway, 1331, nagkaroon ng aberya at tumawag sa tower nagre-request uli ng re-land emergency landing pero hindi na inabot kaya bumagsak siya,” Gutierrez said.
