The Malacanang Palace declared the year 2014 as the Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year as stated in the Proclamation No. 815.
In the announcement released by Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma of the Office of the President, on July 2, the bill “Declaring Year 2014 as Iglesia ni Cristo Centennial Year” is in conjunction with INC's 100th year anniversary on July 27.
Iglesia ni Cristo is considered as the largest home-grown Christian church in the Philippines, founded by Bro. Felix Manalo during the year 1914. The INC is now present in a total of 102 countries worldwide.
According to Malacanang, Proclamation No. 815 was issued by the national government to enhance public awareness on the contribution of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) to national development.
With the proclamation of the year 2014 as Iglesia Ni Cristo Centennial year, the Postmaster General was directed to cause the design, printing and issuance of a special postage stamp to commemorate the said event.
The Office of the President also issued Memorandum Circular No. 66, the creation of “Task Force Sentenaryo” for the Iglesia ni Cristo centennial celebration.
